My Project

Hello, and thank you for considering helping me merge art with history! My students will be conducting research on select Civil Rights Movements of the 1970s. Students may choose from 8 different movements; Women's second Wave, United Farm Worker's/Unions, Chicano Youth Movement, Gay Liberation, Disabled Rights Movement, Native American Movement (A.I.M.), Asian American Movement (Yellow Power), and the Black Panthers.

Through research students will gain a larger understanding of the fight for equal rights/equal protection from multiple perspectives.

Students will need to research and find; examples of discrimination experienced (that prompted the need for change), 3 leaders and their contribution, 5 goals of the movement, illustrations, word cluster, timeline of events (6-7) , and 4 major accomplishments. Using the supplies requested will give students a creative outlet to display their findings.
