This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The items in my cart are to assist my high school students in creating artwork based on World History. Everybody benefits from learning about history - not only individual history - but history of many countries and cultures. Art plays a vital role in the lives of people including, but not limited to, communication, celebrations, and customs. From the Pre-Historic Art to Photorealism of today.
The goals for this project is to expose inner-city students to Art History and to provide them with a chance to create personal versions filled with historic value.
Technology is the way of the future. However, we learn so much from the past. Most students are not aware that there's a world around them that they're a part of. These Art-History Based projects will expose students to Cave Art, Egyptian Art, Greek and Roman Art, Asian Art, Art of the Americas, African and Byzantine and Islamic Art. Students then move onto Medieval Art, Renaissance Art, Age of Enlightenment, Impressionism to Post-Impressionism and finally, Modern Art. Each lesson will contain Elements of Art and Principles of Design. When so much of our lives are rocketing into the future -my wish is to bring my students back to the past.
