My Project

Though I teach history, the goal in my classroom is to encourage students to think, to provide them with a safe enough space to articulate those thoughts, and to engage the mind. So, I asked the students what they would want to make the classroom that much more comfortable and exciting. The list you see came straight from them. As such, there are a variety of items requested.

To keep the classroom comfortable, safe, and clean, we're requesting a vacuum cleaner.

To enrich students' emotional and mental health, there are a variety of fidget items on the list. Students also requested wireless mice for their Chromebooks to make the use of their devices that much easier. Also on the list is a much requested Oculus headset.

We currently have Google cardboard headsets that are essentially defunct with the now dead Google expeditions. We occasionally use them for Youtube virtual field trips. However, an Oculus headset could provide at least one student at a time with an immersive virtual visit to some of the locations we study. Keeping the classroom fun and comfortable is always the goal and these items will help with that.
