My Project

Panthers are voracious and future voracious readers. Some students race to the library whenever new manga arrives. Some of them wait in 10-person hold lines for their favorite manga or soccer books, while some are reluctant to pick up a book until the right one gets recommended by a friend. Some like to re-read their childhood favorites, while others only want to read graphic novels. There are also some that will only choose books if they hear an extended description of their plots first. Their reading journeys are varied and vibrant.

These are all books that have been recommended by other YA Lit professionals and that have been vetted by student reader leaders.

We have a school-wide initiative called "Panthers Read" where students read for 6 minutes in every class, every day. In many classes, students are reading independently chosen books from the library. Panthers really are reading! This means I need to keep on hustling for these new book funds! Every donation helps.
