My Project

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read about my project. I am a 5th grade teacher in an ICT classroom, that means I am one of two teachers in my room which hosts a mix of students with disabilities and general education students. In order to optimize our teacher power (yes, it's a real power!) we often parallel teach. Let me explain! We divide the class into 2 groups based on a variety of factors such as level, need for support, recent data etc etc. In these cases we might teach the same skill but in 2 different ways to ensure we are meeting the needs of our special learners. This can get finicky BECAUSE we only have 1 smartboard.

In an ever increasingly technological world, we find it difficult to engage all learners when half get to see impactful visuals on a screen and the other must solely rely on chart paper or strain to see my small laptop screen.

It would be INCREDIBLY helpful to have a second screen! The Stanbyme is perfect for this because it is small, but not too small, PORTABLE, and easy to use. Every feature of this device is perfect for our room because we are packed pretty tight and have to get creative with space. I truly believe a device like this is a game changer for our parallel teaching method. In addition, even when we don't parallel teach we always have small groups and this device also would be amazing for working in a small corner with 4-6 students. The possibilities are endless!
