Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I work with the after school program and I have noticed that our students do not know how to write in cursive. This is a lost art as well as what I believe is a necessity in life. With the cursive writing booklet that I am requesting, I believe it will benefit them in addition to helping them to learn the basics of cursive writing.

My next two projects are for them to use creativity by exploring the arts.

Our school is a S.T.E.A.M school. (Science, Technology, Engineering, The Arts and Mathematics) Each child has such a personality that they love expressing themselves. Using our STEAM initiative we can show expressions which will showcase how focused-driven and determined they are to express themselves. I want to give them a positive outlook on how they can be impactful not only in their middle school years but in life as a whole.

Using Crayola crayons, which is a staple in a child's life and an all time favorite are a must in any child's home. We will be using them with the sandpaper and wax paper making a lamp and a t-shirt giving the sense of ownership and joy when they see the outcome of their projects.

Of course the t-shirts they will wear and the lamps they will use in their rooms at home.
