This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
76% of current students are free and reduced lunch- eligible, which means they live below the poverty level. Many students do not have access to technology at home. School is their only chance for exposure to current technology.
The Apple Keyboard and mouse will allow our students the ability to use a CNC machine, laser cutter and 3D printer and set up another Creative Station.
The more tools students are exposed to, the more prepared they will be for the future. Our students do not have access to much technology outside of a smartphone. We want them to learn how to make their own smart phone in the future. We want them to be creators, not consumers.
DonorsChoose is the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
As a teacher-founded nonprofit, we're trusted by thousands of teachers and supporters across the country. This classroom request for funding was created by Mr. Kerr and reviewed by the DonorsChoose team.
