Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Within my classroom, unfortunately, there are no windows. There are only for fluorescent lights. Student struggle with the bright lights, especially those who have sensory disorders.

The string lights, light filters, and lamp will help my students focus and learn new ideas within my classroom.

I do step-by-step drawings on the board, and I do need to turn off the lights. With the string lights, my students would be able to see their papers and the board simultaneously.

These lights will create a calming and soothing atmosphere which is much-needed within the art room. The lights will create a more welcoming atmosphere for my students. This will help all my students learn and explore ideas with art.
