This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am currently a second grade teacher. I have been teaching for 19 years. I have taught grades 2nd through 7th. I would like to take Create and Captivate through Learners Edge for multiple reasons. The first reason is that I need to learn about what is new and upcoming. The second reason is to discover new alternative uses for presentations in teaching. In addition, students deserve a teacher who is always trying to learn, grow, and become a more skilled.

Learners Edge offers professional education classes for teachers to keep on the cutting edge!

This course will provide me with the knowledge and skill to deliver engaging presentation. It will teach me how to leverage instructional and visual designs to keep kids engaged. I will be exposed to a variety of platforms for creating interactive presentations, such as embedded videos and screen-casts. In addition I will learn about new alternative uses for presentation such as slide decks, canvas and ebooks. I can't wait to use these skills to create wonderfully professional, engaging presentations for use in with my students. Second graders are exposed to so much visual stimulation and graphics through their devices, videos games and TV. I need to step up my presentations!
