My Project

Robotics has become an extremely popular topic and subject in society. This is no different at the Spring-Ford 5th, 6th ,7th grade building. The robotics club has been up and running for two years with great student participation. This year was the first year that we had to have a drawing to see who participated in the clubs. The clubs are limited to thirty students in each grade level, and we had applications that surpassed that number this year.

Students in robotics club at each grade work in teams of three to create a specific robot that can complete several challenges and tasks assigned to them.

Students also record information in their engineering notebook for a score to be given during our club competition. Students get a fantastic opportunity to work with others, communicate and work as a team to successfully complete assigned tasks.

Students in all three grades really enjoy this club and the various activities that are completed. Additional money granted would be used to increase the club’s capacity as well as expand the club to the 8th grade center for the 2024 – 2025 school year. The expansion of the club to the 8th grade center will make a smooth transition from 5th – 8th grade and then to the high school.

Additionally, the expansion of the club to 8th grade will prepare the students for success in future VEX robotics clubs at the High school level and beyond.
