My Project

My students are incredibly hardworking, and like all students, they deserve the very best. Most of my students entered my 5th grade class achieving below grade level, dealing with poverty, and housing instability, which can make 5th grade so much more challenging than it already is. Despite the challenges, they have shown up everyday with a smile on their face and the willingness to do their very best. Because of this, so many of them have made a significant amount of progress in their academics. As I prepare my class for state testing, I have been thinking about how I can provide them with the best testing environment possible, so they can showcase their success. I would love to be able to set my students up for success during state testing by giving them high-quality headphones to use during the ELA assessment and privacy boards to help them focus and keep their eyes on their own work.

Coming from a community of low-income families, many of my students can not afford to bring their own headphones to school, but with your help, my dream of providing my students with high-quality headphones would come to life!

While the materials I am requesting will be used specifically for upcoming state testing, they will also be used right away. Many of my students would benefit from having a high-quality headphone set during many times of the school day, such as during independent work to help them focus, while taking district assessments that require listening to passages, and when listening to our “QR Code Library” filled with a variety of books for them to listen to and read along with. Please help my 5th graders experience success! Thank you!
