Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My preschoolers are amazing! I love watching them grow and blossom. As children who are hard of hearing and wearing hearing aids and cochlear implants, it is especially rewarding to see them develop typical preschool skills and knowledge! The items in this project will help them reach these goals.
The items I am requesting will spice up their creative play and inspire them in their literacy development, creativity, their cognition, and their identity.
The dolls have hearing aids! In the LEGO burger set, the worker has a cochlear implant! Children need to see themselves in their toys in order to develop a confident sense of self.
I'm also requesting stimulating preschool playthings that promote alphabet learning, counting, cognition, and fine motor skills. The alphabet blocks and number blocks TRANSFORM. Preschoolers are motivated and don't even realize that they are learning their letters and numbers AND building strong fine motor skills (pre-writing skills).
Developing creativity and imagination is essential in preschool. The other playthings that I am requesting - community worker and castle figurines will add to the things already in my classroom: a castle, a fire station, a post office, and more. The Magna-Tiles are a highly desirable magnetic building tool that promotes creativity, spatial sense, problem-solving, social skills, and motor skills.
And because I have given my colleagues my rolling circle-time stools, I am requesting a new one. This helps me move closer to each of my students so they can hear me optimally.
