Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Thank you for taking the time to look at my DonorsChoose project.

This project is for a variety of different items to help motivate and inspire young minds, and to provide a comfortable, functional classroom.

This project includes some dry-erase laminating pouches that I'll use to create math and language arts materials that the students will be able to write on and erase.

The door stoppers are needed to be able to hold the classroom door open when entering/exiting our class.

The pawprint lanyards will be used to hold hall passes.

The ruler tape will help students to be able to measure a variety of items during our measurement unit.

The piggy banks are for our unit on money. To help teach financial literacy, the students earn real coins that they collect in piggy banks. Over the course of appx. 1.5-2 months students earn these coins and then learn to exchange them for bills. Students are highly engaged because at the end of the unit, they get to keep whatever they earn.

The small stuffed tigers will be used as rewards for completing their program minutes and for accomplishing goals on other tasks.

Finally, the Dr. Seuss activity goodie bags, popcorn boxes, stickers, award medals, and certificates will be used next year for Dr. Seuss Read Across America Day.
