Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

During the upcoming weeks of the school year, standardized testing will begin for our scholars, and we need envelopes, rubber bands, headphones, colored paper, two-pocket folders, and plastic bins for testing in multiple subjects.

We need to succeed!

The students have been making tremendous academic gains whether mathematically or literacy-wise on benchmark assessments, but now they need to show it this spring on PARCC and they need these basic, yet essential materials for testing. Many of our students need additional support, so items like the headphones are needed for many students to hear the directions or texts. Just that one item, tends to improve a student's performance by 20-30 percent.
