My Project

Young children are eager to learn and explore everything around them. My classroom is made up of a diverse group of students with different abilities and most of them have very little to no experience with things outside their homes.

As an early childhood educator, I love seeing the look of excitement and accomplishment on my students' faces when they learn something new and are eager to share with me.

The materials within this project will help my students to not only conquer the fear of insects, but to offer an opportunity for them to learn more about bugs and insects, the characteristics of them, the life cycle of them, how and where they live, how they change, and how they help the earth. The bug catching kit will cultivate my students' observation skills when they are using the magnifying glasses and binoculars to observe small animals and plants in nature. The read bugs discovery kit will allow my students to learn about insects and arachnids as they observe and discover through the use of magnifying glasses and a microscope.
