My Project

Science is best learned by young children when the concepts are connected to student's lives. The students in my classroom and grade level spend time throughout the year learning science concepts to form a foundation for deeper study as they grow older. We spend about a month on each unit of study. Three of our big units are Electricity, Sound, and Light.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve student understanding of these important scientific concepts, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement and possibly light the spark for the next generation of scientists!

When students are able to see how these concepts are connected to real life, they remember the information and are motivated to take it to a deeper level. Everyone uses electricity every day, but by building their own circuits, making light bulbs turn on, or generating sounds, students can see how these components actually work to make our everyday lives easier.

Students will use these kits for both guided lab activities and additional explorations, making sure they learn our state science standards in these units as well as growing their interest to spend time trying to build different models and experiments contained in each kit, which has over 100 different experiments for students to use as a springboard for learning. My students will love to get these hands-on experiences. while they work together with partners!
