Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Middle schoolers are very emotional, learning self control, and make drama where no drama needs to exist. It's a rough age. Do you remember your time in middle school?
Trying to remember the little things, experiencing forgetfulness, and being overwhelmed can create anxiety.
I'm trying to reduce anxiety in my classroom for both my students and myself.
My students are forgetting to charge their Chromebooks at night and two of our power strips just died. We've got yoga balls, but students are falling over with them or using them for travel across the room. Having the rings will help with stability and give students alternative seating that is not distracting. By having another seating option for sitting at the back counter that takes up less space, students will have choice. Having choices is important for middle schoolers.
Fidgets and calm strips are always in high demand depending on what happens before students come to school, how students feel about math, and because class periods are 90 minutes long. Bandaids...need I say more?
All of the little things add up for students and adults in the room. By we all know that it's the little things that make life better and mean more than the big things.
