This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A great part of my little first graders students don't have many opportunities to interact with technology , specially robots. I strongly believe that STEM education is essential in preparing students for today’s world of non-stop innovation and my students deserve to participate in those advances and experiences. I would like to provide students with the right learning environment so that they can take full advantage of learning about coding and robots. I would like to introduce our first robot to our class, bringing to the class the robot Dash and an iPad for programming it. With these materials we will be able to create a station about robotics, and my students could learn taking turns .

Educational robotics is a powerful tool for teaching that involves mathematical thinking, and programming the robots to perform a given task.

I can't imagine my students, working as a team, solving problems and having fun together. I’m excited to see the surprise benefits that teaching robotics in the classroom will bring.
