My goal is simple: to cultivate a happy, thriving classroom culture for my first year of teaching. I am entering teaching as a second career, after working over the last few years to obtain a Master's degree in Special Education (nearly twenty years after my undergraduate degree in Business!). I am so excited to finally have found my purpose, to love and serve students in special education setting. My new students are wonderful and smart and have all the potential to succeed, and I look forward to serving them next year!
Cultivating an environment of hands-on learning in all subject areas is my main focus.
Special education classrooms aren't known for focusing on science, instead, the main focus is on reading, writing, math, and social skills. The way I see it, adding science and stem activities into our daily routine just gives us another avenue to explore, reach our academic goals, and have fun!
