My Project

As a secondary Social Studies teacher in an inner-city school, a large number of students in my classes are learning English as a second language. This usually entails providing assignments and activities that are more hands-on or interactive.

I have found that many of them do not have headphones that they can use to benefit from this option.

Most of the text we use is available for students online so that they can have it read to them. I believe with these headphones students will be more at ease with the text and completing the assignments that go with the text. I have also requested scissors because these same students often complete activities where I have them cut things and glue them into a journal.

I find students learn best when they are not stressed and I believe having supplies like this will help my students be successful.
