Help me give my students carpet squares to sit on while working with the teacher during small group instruction. It will help to create personal space, as well as a comfortable spot for my 1st graders.

My Project

My 1st-grade students are just beginning to learn how to read. During small group instruction, a reading specialist or myself are sitting on the floor with them to teach. These carpet squares will make a comfortable spot for the students to sit, while also helping them to maintain personal space. We have flooring throughout our classroom, so the carpet squares would be a perfect addition to help my students develop a love for reading!

We could also use the carpet squares during independent math centers.

While I am teaching small groups, the other students are rotating through centers (usually on the floor). The carpet squares would give them a portable and comfortable way to participate in math centers with their classmates.

Ms. Woehr will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by July 9.
