Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

We are seeking calculators for our students with disabilities. Our students will be using these to help support them in learning higher level math skills. These calculators are also models that are allowable on our standardized tests as accommodations for a disability.

A quality calculator can help bridge the gap for students who learn differently to access the curriculum at the same rate as their peers.

As they learn strategies and develop their number skills, they can use the calculator to keep up with the higher level processes that their grade level demands. For students who may use a calculator as a testing accommodation, becoming familiar with a specific one before testing can help them to test more comfortably and reduce their stress.
