Everyone can get overwhelmed at times including my young learners. My goal for this project is to provide my students with a comfortable and organized area to go to when they need a break from the rest of the class.
We currently have a designated "take a break" spot in the classroom for times when students are feeling sad, mad, anxious, or stressed, but I want to improve this area.
I want to make it more comfortable for them with a new rest mat, so they have a soft area. In addition, I want to add some activities which I plan to arrange/organize on the Mesh Desk File Organizer and tools including the squishy animals for my students to use in the "take a break" area to help them calm down. Finally, I am requesting books about feelings for my students to read or look at while they are trying to reset themselves so they can return safely and calmly to our class lesson.
