This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I'm really passionate about creating a reading culture in my ELA classroom that celebrates diversity and inclusivity. By picking out exciting and diverse books, my goal is to make sure every student feels valued and understood.

I dream of having an inviting space in my classroom where readers and critical thinkers can explore a variety of captivating books and feel right at home in a friendly environment.

Diverse books are a key part of my vision. I want my students to see themselves reflected in the characters they read about, to learn from different perspectives, and to empathize with experiences different from their own. By offering a range of diverse books, I hope to broaden their horizons and foster a sense of understanding and empathy.
