Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have recently moved to a new classroom and would like to create a quiet, calm space for students to relax and escape sensory overload. We have a small space, a quiet room that needs some sprucing up.

I am requesting a few items to make this space a safe, relaxing environment for students on the Autism Spectrum.

I would like to have a rocking chair so students can self-soothe when feeling over whelmed from daily sensory over load. I am also requesting a soft rug to relax on and a small light box to provide an escape from fluorescent lights.

I have a few students who are extremely sensitive to variety of sensory related stimuli such as loud sounds, and fluorescent lights. Your donation would be going to support these students by providing a space for them to feel comfortable and take a break when feeling overwhelmed.
