Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our brand-new Learning Lab will replace our current computer lab with STEM inspired centers developed with collaboration and commitment to learning in mind. Our students will experience: Research Lab, Multimedia Way, Mad Science, Get-Together, and Creation Station. Each will be filled with challenging activities that inspire them to think in deep and creative ways. New devices: Dell desktops, Chromebooks, iPads, ActivTables, and a 3-D printer, as well as our existing iMacs offer technological diversity, remove barriers, and provide access and equity for all students.

Flex-Spaces are so important for our 21st century learners.

Unlike our current traditional computer lab, a flexible learning space supports both teacher-directed and student-driven learning. Adaptable furniture and equipment that students can utilize in ways that suit them best are the qualities of this modern design. It offers individual choice, increased comfort, interpersonal communication, sensory input, and fun, while allowing for a range of teaching methods and classroom configurations.

Transforming our space with flexible seating will inspire students to learn in the positions that are most comfortable to them, while making responsible decisions about their own learning. This proven innovative classroom model leads to improved focus and concentration, more time on task and productive work, as well as higher and more evolved critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students will be better prepared to embrace their future education and career objectives in the evolving landscape of today’s global society.
