Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Currently I teach K-5th grade English as a New Language. I currently have diverse levels of English Language Learners (ELs). Because of the linguistic diversity I serve, differentiation is the key to all my EL groups.

Newcomers and ELs need a very specific differentiation, scaffolding, and modeling in writing.

I am currently requesting magnetic sentence frames that I can use to model paragraph formation for ELs levels 1-3. I am requesting different colors of EXPO markers so that I can color code topic sentence, details, and conclusion. Students will also use these markers in their own learning and writing. The folder rack will be used so that I can organize each groups work. I currently work with 7 groups, and within those 7 groups, I still differentiate. Using this organizational rack will make it more efficient to keeps students work organized for myself and my students. The hooks will be used to hang the rack so I don't have to drill anything to our wall, since this classroom may not be permanent.

Using these resources will assist me in teaching writing to emergent Bilinguals and ELs. Thank you for supporting our classroom.
