Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

"The American Library Association considers video games to be a part of its mission to provide cultural, recreational, and entertaining materials, as well as informational and educational materials."

I'll set up gaming stations within our library space and encourage students to take breaks from gaming to browse books, study, or collaborate on projects to integrate eSports tournaments with library access that will create a dynamic environment for leisure and learning.

This project will be a benefit to our school library by:

1. Integrating eSports and physical activity initiatives into our library will attract students passionate about gaming while promoting a healthy lifestyle. These activities will provide opportunities for students to engage with library resources, connect with peers who share similar interests, and discover new ways to incorporate physical activity into their daily routines, enhancing their overall educational experience.

2. I'll set up gaming stations within our library space and encourage students to take breaks from gaming to browse books, study, or collaborate on projects. This integration of eSports tournaments with library access will create a dynamic environment for leisure and learning.

3. I'll introduce the concept of gamifying exercise by incorporating a Nintendo Switch with games like Ring Fit Adventure, Just Dance, and other sports games. These activities will not only promote physical activity, but also make staying active enjoyable and motivating for students, all within the library setting.

4. We'll establish eSports competitions within our middle school, focusing on games that promote physical activity such as sports simulations or dance games. This initiative will foster teamwork, competition, and community spirit, enriching the library's inclusive environment.
