My Project

For the past five years I have co-taught in a classroom and this next year we will have our own individual classrooms. I want to ensure that my students have everything they need to facilitate learning. My kindergarten and first-grade students need updated materials that will cater to their sensory and hands-on needs. This will allow them to engage with their environment in a way that supports their learning style. Hands-on activities promote fun and interactive learning experiences, which are essential for keeping young learners engaged and motivated. The dollhouse for example will open up a variety of learning experiences through play. Children can immerse themselves in role-playing activities, fostering a deeper understanding of their surroundings and social dynamics.

Incorporating a variety of materials helps develop life skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and social interaction.

By providing students with access to a variety of resources, I can facilitate independent activities, allowing each student to explore and learn at their own pace while addressing their individual needs effectively.

Young learners benefit immensely from sensory and hands-on materials. These materials will provide opportunities to explore, manipulate, and engage with their environment. Sensory experiences stimulate various senses like touch, sight, sound, and even smell, which are crucial for cognitive development in early childhood. Hands-on materials promote active learning, allowing children to interact with concepts and ideas in a concrete manner, which enhances comprehension and retention. Teaching young learners, especially children with disabilities is challenging at times, having updated and new materials in place will foster their learning. My students are exceptional and I want to make sure that items are available to them when they need them. Why? Because they deserve it!
