This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Students love learning how to count and learn Math/Science concepts in hands-on, engaging ways. This project will help them do just that!
These STEM Bins will be what students look forward to getting out each day to practice counting, adding, subtracting, writing numbers, and telling time on their very own little clock.
Students will be able to practice counting to 100 by 1's, 5's and 10's on the Rekenrek math abacus as well as with their 100 cubes. Students will also be able to have their own sets of cubes so that they can add, subtract, count and improve their number sense by building cube stairs! They can practice counting by 5's on their clocks and learn how to tell time.
Our goal is for every student to be able to count and identify numbers to 100, add and subtract fluently to 5, and count by 1's, 5's and 10's to 100 so these STEM BINS would be the perfect instructional resource to help us achieve our goal!
