This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Every month, I work hard to create new and diverse book displays to catch students' interest. I spend time making sure that each display includes books that my students will see themselves in and books of different lengths, levels, and formats. Each display is around a different theme and I make colorful signs to show students what they are about.
Currently, these signs are flimsy and unstable, so I would like to upgrade to proper sign holders for all of my book display signs.
Sign holders will be quicker, easier, sturdier, and longer-lasting than my current system (which involves reusing propped-up folders that have seen better days!). I would also like to be able to use self-adhesive laminate (the clear adhesive roll) on my poster-sized signage that goes on the library's walls and on the sides of the shelving units to keep it safe and sturdy.
These little details will make the library look nicer and help my students navigate the library collection for years to come.
