This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Parent engagement goes beyond attending parent-teacher conferences or checking your child's homework. It encompasses a holistic approach that involves active participation in your child's school life. When parents are engaged, children tend to have higher attendance rates, better grades, and improved behavior. They also have increased self-esteem, motivation, and a sense of belonging. While most parents understand the importance of being involved in their child's education, the reality is that many struggle to find the time and opportunities to actively engage with their child's school community. This is where school events play a crucial role. They offer a platform for parents to connect with teachers, administrators, and other parents, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.

Our school has set a goal to increase parent engagement at school events by at least 50%.

Students can benefit from increased parent engagement in numerous ways, such as improved academic performance, increased motivation and self-esteem, better behavior and attendance, and enhanced social and emotional development.

Being able to print in color ink offers the benefit of increased visibility and emphasis, which can help information stand out and attract attention effectively during parent engagement events. Using color can also aid in highlighting important details or categorizing information, making it easier for parents to navigate and absorb the data presented. Color can evoke emotions and create a more engaging and visually appealing experience for attendees, increasing interest and participation in the event. School only has black & white printers
