My Project

This project has a lot of resources that will help us succeed. We have had a large influx of English Language Learners recently, so there are some workbooks and flashcards that will help them be engaged in having better literacy skills. There are also many fun texts including 2 book sets that are popular with our emerging readers and our advanced readers that have been selected by request - Elephant and Piggie, and the Babysitters Club. There are also a few engaging read-alouds with a social-emotional/Kindness theme that will help us grow as a class and as humans.

This dynamic group of 3rd graders attend Maine's most ethnically diverse school. The school's amazing international student body represents 20 nationalities! Within the school, 50% of the 420 students are English Language Learners, and almost 75% of the students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

My students' unique perspectives are something I strive to highlight and use as a learning tool. Our diversity is seen as an asset as we capitalize upon our knowledge and build on our strengths.
