This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Being a new Art teacher, supplies are hard to come by especially for a class of twenty-four. I teach in a community where supplies of any kind are hard to come by. I find myself trying to find means to purchase items that would provide my students with the supplies they need to express their imaginations.
The supplies listed are supplies I am unable to provide the students with to express their imaginations.
The tempera paint would give them a chance to learn about vibrant colors.
The drawing boards would allow them to work on any of their projects and be able to store them without damaging them.
I have small safety scissors for elementary students and they complain about their hands getting stuck. Keep in mind these are highschoolers.
The canvas will provide them with good quality material used for Art other than paper. They will be able to create art pieces demonstrating the techniques they have learned in class. The projector will help construct large pieces to support the performing arts programs. We do the backdrops and stage sets for the other art programs.
