Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Once our children leave for summer vacation, we often wonder if they are being stimulated outside of the classroom. From physical, to science, to literacy, we want to make sure that they have materials that will assist parents in encouraging their learning.

We have chosen a variety of materials that will help our children stay engaged while they are away from us, while working on their objective goals.

A lot of times we see an activity and don't even realize that the children are actually working on skills. For physical development we chose Neon Punch Balloons for hand eye coordination. We chose IRCHLYN Magnifying Glasses so the children can explore insects and small things in their environment that are not easy to see with just your eyes. We also included a book for the children to recognize that there are lots of different things that can be celebrated in their lives called A Little SPOT of Celebration. This book will also help our children's continued advancement of their literacy skills.

Most people don't think of the skills that children gain through play. Teachers think of that all year long, it's their job. And as teachers we want them to continue to grow even when the teachers aren't there.
