My Project

Preschoolers learn best through active play. Our day is set up through many opportunities to engage with hands-on learning in the classroom. However, our outdoor environment is lacking the materials necessary to captivate their minds and foster their creativity.

This project will impact student learning by having accessible centers outside that will allow them to explore the outdoors in the most developmentally appropriate way by enhancing all aspects of learning including social-emotional, mathematics, literacy, science, fine motor, and gross motor skills.

These materials will benefit up to 74 preschool students this year and will be able to be used for many years to come.

Students will also be more engaged in outdoor play with their peers which will lead to increased positive social skills and interactions and decreased challenging behaviors that can often occur on the playground.
