Solving Math Differently!

Help me give my students the opportunity to use markers instead of traditional pencil and paper to show their knowledge and understanding of math! The batteries are for the calculators they need to help them process the math!

My Project

Thank you for taking the time to read about why I have created a Donors Choose project. I wanted to share with you how my students will be using and benefitting from these things in my classroom.

My students are constantly using whiteboards and markers to work through math problems throughout the class period; so much that they have ran out of them.

I have tried getting them to use a pencil and paper but they seem to have a much better time and understand the content more if they use a whiteboard and marker. Therefore, I included markers in my project. I have whiteboard desks in my classroom but have no use for them unless we have markers to draw on them.

The batteries are for the students who are unable to purchase a calculator of their own. I have many students who consistently borrow a calculator from me and they always end up dying because they run on batteries. I need some batteries to make sure the students who cannot afford a calculator have the means to work through and process the math if they need to.

Mr. Tometz will only receive his materials if this project is fully funded by June 30.
