My Project

My fifth graders love book clubs in our classroom! Students will cover several 5th-grade reading standards while reading a new, exciting book that they are interested in reading with a group of their peers. A variety of books will help us to study several genres and make sure each student has a book that matches their reading abilities.

For book clubs to be effective for learning, students have to buy into the book their reading.

Old, outdated books leave students uninterested in learning. These titles will not only make our book clubs fun and effective, but many of these titles have sequels that will encourage students to continue to read on their own outside of book club!
