As an elementary art teacher, I am a passionate advocate for arts education. My mission is to foster creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression in ALL my students through inclusive, engaging art activities and projects.
Most of my budding artists are from low-income families and do not have the luxury of basic art materials at home.
Your generosity will enhance the learning experience for my young artists by giving them access to materials they otherwise would not have, including hypoallergenic materials for my students with sensitivities. Specifically, we are in need of the following items for our art room:
Snacks: Providing snacks during art sessions ensures that our students have the energy and focus to unleash their creativity.
Paintbrushes: High-quality paintbrushes are essential tools for our students to explore different painting techniques and express their artistic visions.
Drawing Tools: Pens, markers, and compasses are versatile tools that allow students to experiment with drawing, doodling, and writing in their artwork.
Tweezers: Bead tweezers are specialized tools that aid students in handling small beads with precision and ease, enhancing their fine motor skills and attention to detail.
Sculpting and Building Materials: Incorporating Play-Doh sculpting tools and building blocks into our art classroom provides alternative mediums for expression beyond traditional drawing and painting.
These tactile materials engage students in hands-on exploration, promoting the development of fine motor skills and three-dimensional thinking. Through sculpting and building activities, students enhance problem-solving abilities, collaborate with peers, and communicate their ideas effectively.
