Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are fun-loving, creative scholars who love to show off their work and be rewarded for doing a fantastic job.

My students look forward to coming to our writing center, using a special pencil, and then laminating their finished work.

They work extremely hard to get it perfect to hang outside the classroom for all to enjoy. The sense of pride they feel after a finished project is heartwarming.

We use a lot of glue sticks, stickers, and dry-erase markers. I try to create an engaging environment so students love coming to school and feel like their work matters. Students often come without supplies, and I want them to have their own so they feel a sense of ownership and no distinction can be made between the haves and have-nots.
