Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I coach multiple sports for my students in Anchorage Alaska. I am able to provide foundational skills for my teams. My participants are excited and driven every single day. For most of my players, sport is an outlet.

After school, rather than doing something unproductive, they come to practice; oftentimes hungry as nearly 75% of them are from low-income homes.

Resources are scarce and we struggle to retain the basic materials needed to run a successful program. We have made due; however, we want to ask the community to support us in our plight. I am requesting snacks for my students. These snacks will nourish my players so that they are ready to participate at maximum capacity. I thank you in advance for any support you offer.
