Help me give my students access to science resources. Reading is the key to unlocking a world of possibilities.
Reading and science go hand and hand and the more we read, the more we understand.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My middle school is a Title I school. We serve students in grades 5-8. It has a total population of approximately 275 students. Over 75 percent of our students are African American, and the majority are below the poverty level and come from low-income families.
I always encourage my students to become very productive, and reading is the key to unlocking a world of possibilities.
Science has evolved so much, and “nothing in life is to be feared; it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.” Reading and science go hand and hand and the more we read, the more we understand.
I would like my students to still have full access to online resources to improve their reading and science instruction. Scholastic News provides expository text on current events, and they even have online videos and activities linked to their stories that can be shared through Google Classroom or Schoology. My students will appreciate these valuable resources, and they will understand if we go back to virtual that we can transition easily from print to digital with minimum interruptions.
