Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Pretend play helps children feel more independent by letting them dive deeper into their own internal world, giving them a sense of their identity, likes, and dislikes. It also helps them learn how to solve problems as they go. Pretend play will help my students rehearse scenarios they may experience in the future, which will help them feel more prepared to handle different situations and allow them to practice thinking on their feet in a comfortable setting.

I will use this project to help students learn what items to use when washing clothes as well as how to sort foods and how to store them.

I would like to teach life skills to my special education students because it equips them with the tools, they need to navigate their daily routines and interact successfully with their environment. These skills enable my students to become more independent, self-reliant, and confident in their abilities. By teaching life skills to my special education students, I will help them gain a sense of empowerment and develop the necessary foundations for leading a fulfilling and meaningful life. I will use this project to help students learn what items to use when washing clothes as well as how to sort foods and how to store them.

My students attend school daily, eager to learn new things as soon as they arrive. My students are hardworking, motivated, and passionate.
