Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Not only does a rug add to the warmness of a classroom, it also gives students a clean, comfortable place to focus on the lesson(s) being taught. Being able to focus and engaged in the lesson is vital to the academic success of my students.

My goals for this project is to give my students a warm and comfortable place to learn.

Currently, they have to sit on the floor, which is very cold. This rug will allow them to focus on the whole group and/or buddy assignments without looking for something to sit on.

My students are very special to me. I am a Special Education Resource Teacher for grades 3-5. In my classroom, we focus on our unique abilities instead of our disabilities. I am very intentional when it comes to motivating and encouraging my students to be the best version of themselves.
