My Project

My students are an incredible bunch of social emotional superheroes who are learning to put on their capes and fly. We continue to practice with one another until they gain the confidence to soar independently. My students are determined to become better versions of themselves every single day. I have the honor of learning from them and growing with them through my work as a School Social Worker.

These resources will provide increased practice to foster and strengthen the social emotional skills that are innate to each of us.

The chair bands and bouncy bands will help my students stay focused while they learn about their strengths. The sensory stickers will help my students with sensory sensitivities remain regulated as they tackle newness. The activity books will provide me with the resources to best engage my superheroes and the books will help normalize our emotions. The situation cards will help with perspective taking, as we often feel we are alone in our experiences. The bookshelf will store my precious books so they are cared for and never have to go on strike! The filing cabinet will keep all of our materials safely tucked away from slime covered hands. The cushions will keep us comfortable as the closet is not big enough for a table and chairs.

My goal is to create a space in which my students are able to show up as their authentic selves, with their feelings validated, and their words heard. My students will continue to learn coping strategies from imaginative characters to carry with them for life. I want to see my superheroes fly high, and need your help to get them off their feet.
