Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Clothing for kids is very important especially in middle school. Students are judged by their shoes and clothing each day at school.

Many of my students wear the same clothing to school every school day.

Their clothing has not been washed and many times has a strong body odor. Providing clean socks, shirts and a warm sweatshirt can make a huge difference in a child's life. The belts will be to hold their pants up because they normally wear an older sibling's clothing to school.

Our school nurse told me to get the clothing too big rather than too small because students can wear it if it is too big, but can't if it is too small. We have lots of newcomer students transferring to our school from different countries with little clothing to wear to school.
