Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach Math and coach volleyball at Jerome Mack Middle School. Volleyball has recently become a sanctioned sport in the district, which is great but has increased costs for my students. Volleyball was previously just a club, but now students were quickly required to obtain a sports physical, health insurance, and pay their sports fee, which covers shorts and day of snacks. The additional responsibilities has limited student access to playing volleyball due to financial hardship. My school is Title 1, and enrolls 100% economically disadvantaged students, so any contribution that can help alleviate some of the fees for the students allows more students to play.
I requested shorts, snacks, personal hygiene items, and a few new volleyballs and other necessities that are needed for the season.
Any contributions made will reduce costs for my players and allow them to be able to play without worrying about the costs. These students are so hard-working and deserving, and I would be so grateful for some help in supporting my students! Thank you so much!
