This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our state testing is quickly approaching. Each year, I like to have a small treat waiting on my students' desks when they walk in in the morning. These treats are to help them remember that they have all the encouragement my fellow teachers and I could possibly give them. A simple gesture during a stressful time can be all that a student needs to know they are cared about and that their teachers believe in them. Some of my students like to save part of their breakfast for a midmorning snack which leaves them with unfilled tummies. The last thing I want for my students during the important days of testing is to have their tummies grumbling. By having these treats on their desks, they can finish their breakfasts and not have to worry about rumbly tummies later on; they can focus on doing their best and not on hunger pains.

Ms. Tidwell will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by July 6.
