My Project

In biology, I am always looking for ways to increase scholar engagement. The book Biology Made Real will help me improve my teaching strategies to increase their engagement. Additionally, throughout the year, my biology students learn about the importance of being both physically and mentally healthy. By providing snacks in my classroom, I can offer needed nutrition which can increase students' focus and mood. Nutritious snacks help lead to better overall health and healthy eating habits.

Mental health is another important factor in their ability to listen, learn, and make connections throughout the school day.

Music and movement can provide a sense of inclusion and calm. Listening to music and being able to use the flexible stools to increase movement while working can help to increase student engagement and mental well being. This project will help me provide music to all of my students as they work on independent work. As scholars learn about Biology, they will be able to better focus on activities with access to calming music.

I have a record player in my classroom and this project will also provide music to increase student engagement in daily lessons. Throughout our days scholars often enjoy listening to records. They have requested several different artists which not only helps them stay focused but also exposes them to artists they have not heard before.
