Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The use of positive incentives gives our scholars a tangible goal that benefits them in the near future. Using the fundamentals of Positive reinforcement and our HPA's core values, we wanted to encourage our discouraged scholars to push beyond their perceived limits. The gift cards allow me to show them a reward they can touch now and it helps the students learn to achieve their short term goals. This will push them to in the future to reach their long term goals and feel empowered to achieve academic success beyond high school. What becomes a problem is the fact that a lot of our scholars are not being encouraged and invested in at home. When something goes awry, we want our students to know that they are able to depend on us and we will invest in them. By having gift cards that are for things they enjoy, students will be able to avoid all of these problems and focus on increasing their learning!

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

Students will be able to simply focus on academics and want to come to school. Plus in a world where many scholars feel they are already expected to fail, they can know this is not correct and they can be successful!
